5) Enhancing Learning Through Technology

 Overall objectives of the book

From the perspective of stimulating change and bringing about

innovation in design of curricula, the book aims to identify and

present, from a principled approach, the latest research, not only on

relevant theory and practice, but also in terms of capturing learning

designs and best-practice, which demonstrate significant and innovative

ways of enhancing learning processes through responsible and meaningful

integration of technology in learning environments. It is written for

professionals who want to understand the mechanisms of success and

failure and for those - mainly within a tertiary education environment

 - who want to improve their learning designs, building on a deeper

theoretical insight into the area. We also believe that the book will

be relevant to colleges of education worldwide, students of education

and educational technologists and theorists who wish to design for

learning and promote debate at master and higher levels of attainment

 in universities.

6) Designing for Networked Communications: Strategies and Development

The Overall Objective of the Book

The book is meant to further our understanding of ICT-design processes by identifying strategies employed both by developers and users in the dynamic processes of creating and using artefacts. The various chapters will present and reflect on relevant theoretical frameworks and the latest empirical research findings in the area. Bridging the fields of HCI-design in Computer Science and Computer-mediated Communication in Communication Studies, the book will represent an interdisciplinary approach that is valuable for stimulating unconventional thinking and a creative exchange in and across two important academic and professional fields.

12) Student Plagiarism in an Online World: Problems and Solutions

Edited by Tim S Roberts, Faculty of Business and Informatics, Central Queensland University

The call for submissions is now closed.

Overall objectives of the book
Twenty years ago, plagiarism was seen as an isolated misdemeanour, restricted to a small group of dishonest students.  Today, it is widely recognised as a ubiquitous, systemic problem.  Some 90% of students admit to cheating of some form during their academic careers.  Some 70% admit to copying material directly from the Internet.

This is a major concern to educators in all fields and at all levels.  How can students be assessed fairly, when the problem of plagiarism is so widespread?  This book will address the issue of student plagiarism directly.  What is the scale of the problem?  Why should it be taken seriously?  What tools and techniques can be used to combat the problem?

These questions will be answered using as exemplars cases and solutions from real-life situations.

The book is scheduled to be published by IGI Global, publisher of the Idea Group Publishing, Information Science Publishing, IRM Press, CyberTech Publishing and Idea Group Reference imprints, in late 2007.

Inquiries about the book may be sent to:

of learning. The issue will explore some of the following themes and ideas:
how will advances in educational technology and computational information
systems help shape the future of learning? what kinds of new pedagogies
might result from these technological advances? what new learning management
strategies will be supported by new technologies? how will learners develop
new and different ways of learning? how will a rapidly globalizing world
mobilize and utilize new forms of learning? and, what will all of the above
information say about the future of human civilization? Other topic areas
will be considered.

14) Innovative Information and Communication Technologies and Tools

at the service of Collaborative Learning

In conjunction with the IEEE-CreateNet-ICST CollaborateCom 2006 Conference

Atlanta, Georgia, USA, November 17th - 20th, 2006

E-learning uses the ICT technologies to support learning in its various forms, often trying to break space and temporal constraints. Collaboration is believed to be one of the most effective forms of learning. Computer supported collaborative learning is an active area that attempts to put together the best of the two approaches. Much work has been done in this area: however the underlying ICT technologies evolve rapidly, and also our understandings of how collaboration works changes with time.

The aim of the present workshop is to present and discuss innovative ideas and trends in this domain. We invite original contributions from researchers in academia and computer industry on these emerging and important areas of information technology.

This Workshop will held as part of the 2nd International Conference on Collaborative Computing (http://www.collaboratecom.org) that will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, November 17th - 20th, 2006 .

Main topics include (but are not limited to) applications of advanced technology for innovative collaborative learning and training:

• innovative technology for Collaborative Learning (planning, design, development, testing, deployment, integration, maintenance, etc.)

• innovative software tools and software/hardware systems for Collaborative Learning

• distributed systems for Collaborative Learning

• mobile and ubiquitous systems for Collaborative Learning

• semantic web applications for Collaborative Learning

• 3D Collaborative Learning environments

• peer to peer Collaborative Learning environments

• services for Collaborative Learning

• how pedagogy should influence the design of Collaborative Learning systems

• Collaborative Learning best cases and practices

16) The Handbook of Research on Electronic Collaboration and Organizational Synergy

The first call for chapters for the The Handbook of Research on Electronic Collaboration and Organizational Synergy (http://www.vision2lead.com/html/esynergy.html) formally closes April 30, 2007. We have been extremely pleased with both the quantity and quality of the submissions. Please see the list of invited authors and chapter topics: http://www.vision2lead.com/html/esynergy2.html.

Now we are requesting a additional proposals targeting specified areas in order to ensure a comprehensive and balanced view of collaboration in education, business, social sector organizations and government. We are particularly interested in contributions that consider electronic collaboration within a single business, governmental or social sector organization; interdisciplinary collaboration within educational institutions or instructional practices within the classroom; collaboration across private sector or business organizations; cross-cultural skills development; and issues inherent in a digitally connected global society. If your proposal falls outside of the listed categories but within the scope of the original call for chapters and you wish to submit for consideration, we still welcome your proposal as a competitive entry in categories with a significant number of submissions.

The Handbook of Research on Electronic Collaboration and Organizational Synergy (http://www.vision2lead.com/html/esynergy.html) will examine structure, organization, technology tools and leadership practices that characterize successful collaboration in and across the fields of education, public and social sectors. See the call for chapters (http://www.vision2lead.com/Call.pdf) or contact us at synergy@vision2lead.com.  We are reviewing proposals as they are submitted.

Editors Janet Salmons, Ph.D. and Lynn Wilson, Ph.D. will draw on their respective scholarly and practical experience with inter-organizational and intra-organizational collaborations in the fields covered in the handbook. Information Science Reference, (an imprint of IGI Publishing), has tentatively scheduled publication of print and electronic editions of the book in 2008.

Diversity is getting a key position in cultures, identities and etiquette on the Web. Existential and artistic factors become decisive for successful applications like the social-, the creative- and the ideological.

This awareness is becoming a major concern to educators and social workers in all fields and at all levels. What are critical dimensions of diversity? How can we benefit from diversity? What methods are the best for anticipating, design and orchestration? What are the different ways of thinking and visualization?

These questions and many more will be answered as exemplars of real large-scale projects and life situations.

Target Audience
The target audience of this book includes professionals working in the area of social, organizational and educational fields; researchers, designers, managers and policy makers from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Suggested Chapter Titles
This book will be divided into three/four section where each section will include eight to ten chapters each. Suggests chapter titles are as follows:
